Lose the winter weight with celebrity nutritionist Eve Kalinik’s super easy, ultra healthy treats. Step away from the Pringles…

Superfoods for your skin

Her top 5 snacks are carefully balanced to feed your skin, boost your energy, focus your mind and keep you fuller longer,

1. Hunger Buster. Apple with almond nut butter. Delicious. Just slice the apple and serve with a tablespoon of nut butter (per apple not per slice!). Kids love it too. Meridian Natural Almond Butter, £2.40 Sainsbury’s.
2. Focus Fuel. Miso soup. I’m always encouraging clients to increase their intake of fermented foods as they balance bacteria in the gut, aiding digestion, keeping our skin and immune system healthy and supporting brain function. I like the Clearspring brand. £2.35, Ocado.
3. Energy Hit. Bliss balls. These definitely hit the spot if you are craving a sweet treat. Easy and quick to make. See my recipe below.
4. Immune Booster. Avocado with pumpkin seeds. Avocados are good sources of N-acetyl-cysteine and pantothenic acid which support energy and concentration so are a perfect snack option. Pumpkin seeds are also an excellent source of zinc, which acts as a natural anti-microbial, helping to stave off winter bugs.
5. Low Calorie Crunch. Kale chips are a great alternative to crisps. They’re expensive in the shops, but making them at home is simple and easy. Just tear the leaves from the stems, massage with olive oil and Himalayan salt and pop in the oven at the lowest temp for around 30-45 mins.
Recipe For Cacao Bliss Balls

Makes approx. 30

2 cups walnuts
2 1/2 cups of Medjool dates, pitted
1 cup raw cacao
(£6.99, Holland & Barrett)

½ cup hazelnuts
1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Place walnuts in a food processor and blend on high until the nuts are finely ground.
Add the cacao, salt, almonds and hazelnuts. Pulse to combine.
Add the dates one at a time and you should have a mixture that easily sticks together when pressed. If it doesn’t hold well then add more dates
Remove mixture and roll into small balls approx. 1 inch in diameter. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
