What would’ve been your alternative career?

Florist – not sure about the early starts though..

What’s your instant feel good fix?

A bath and a magazine..

What’s your essential life simplifying trick/app/buy?

Home maker; an endless source of inspiration for easy peasy craft creations, family frolics & super stylish high street finds.

What’s your favourite perfectly imperfect thing?

When my children come in at the end of long sunny days spent outdoors. Dusty feet, messy hair and sunkissed noses. There is real beauty in those simple, childhood moments.

What was your best sanity saving decision?

Leaving my job in teaching after ten years. I was very unhappy and feeling under pressure to juggle it all and do everything perfectly. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I’ve honestly never looked back. I completely admire those mums who are striking that work/life balance so brilliantly.

What’s your life motto?

‘Choose kindness and laugh often’ I maybe don’t always succeed in living by it, but it’s definitely something I aspire to. What a lovely world it would be if we all did!

How do you get rid of the guilt gremlins?

I read a quote once that said ‘No one has it all figured out’, and it really hit me that, actually, isn’t that so true? We, as women in particular, are so hard on ourselves, comparing constantly to the best parts of others. I think that’s where all guilt is borne from. When I fall into that trap I always remember that rarely do we know the full story. And it’s actually totally fine to not have it all sussed. We are only human, and so much more relatable for admitting our shortcomings. All of us are just doing the best we can, and that is enough.

What’s your number one simple pleasure?

Really good coffee

What do you think are women’s biggest confidence zappers?

I don’t think social media always helps, it can be very inspiring, but it can also be hard not to compare yourself with that polished version of someone else.

When was the last time you did nothing?

My birthday, I took some time out to just relax with Netflix and eat chocolates!

Kitchen queen; cooking, baking & concocting wonderful treats for indulging ourselves, wow-ing others or just making us pretty darn hungry.

What’s your instant feel good fix?

Uplifting music. I think a good playlist for breakfast can set up your mood for the day.

What was your best sanity saving decision?

To worry about money less and time more. I made a big decision about a year ago to downscale my work. It was a hard decision but one of the best ones I’ve ever made. Yes, I don’t make as much money as I once did, but I have more time to enjoy family life without being under constant time pressures and I love it.

What do you think are women’s biggest confidence zappers?

Feeling we need to be everything to everyone. Perfect Mum, perfect friend, perfect body, perfect cook. We want to make everyone happy all of the time. To quote a wise old proverb “You can’t make everyone happy. You’re not a jar of Nutella.” True that!

When was the last time you did nothing?

My lovely husband saw that I was frazzled this weekend from a super busy week and sent me for a nap. Oh it was BLISS!
