Seems there’s a trend for ever more out-there therapies. Here’s how health nuts are questing for perfection…(including a few you could try and a few you probably shouldn’t).

Doable: Whole30. It’s about eliminating foods like added sugars, alcohol, grains, dairy and baked goods. For an entire month. Whole30.com.

Extreme: The Californian clay-drinking craze. Celebrities say it’s detoxifying and aids weight loss. The  warns of the ‘dangers’ of ingesting some versions, stating ‘high levels of lead and arsenic. ‘

Doable: Eating kale. M & S Eat Well Salt & Pepper Kale Crisps are an easy way to start.

Extreme: Burning hair. The Brazilian models are twisting sections of their locks tightly then burning off the escaping hairs with a naked flame. The theory is this opens up the cuticle and makes it more receptive to conditioning. We’re unconvinced.
