September loves from our Mummy Blogger

Well Hello there text

I hope, that if you were seeing little ones off to school this month, it all went smoothly and without too many tears. (I think we know that in most cases it is the parents shedding the most!) Our little three are back to their term-time routine, and September for us has been a month of readjusting to the busy schedule of homework, and packed lunches, and after-school activities. The Summer seems a very long way off already!

But let’s get to it! Our early Autumn loves from Little Wood…

Us and Them

Crisp air and Park Mornings – At this time of year we love to get up early, beat the crowds, don our wellies and stamp in crunchy leaves at a local park. There is nothing quite like the early morning chill of an Autumn day. It is the finest time of day in the finest season of the year…

Packed lunches! – Our little three take a mixture of school dinners and packed lunches, and the lunch days always provide an extra challenge for us parents here at Little Wood.

They are fussy eaters to say the least.

In an attempt to introduce some vegetables into the midday meal, I have taken to making veggie crisps. The Sweet Potato ones have gone down a storm, but the girls also loved these carrot ones too!

Me and Him

We have been delighted, this month, to discover that we have been nominated for an Amara Interior blog Award.

If you have followed our story, you will know that in 2012 we built our forever home. It was a road fraught with problems and disaster, and very much completed on a budget, but we made it in the end. It is so heartwarming to think that someone thinks us worthy of this recognition.

Coffee. There has been a lot of coffee. The lifeblood of all those with children under ten!

Little Me

I get so excited for all that Autumn brings, not least the prospect of new coats and new boots. It took a while to narrow it down, but this year I finally decided on these beauties… (M&S / Dorothy Perkins)

Changes afoot! With the littlest starting school this month, it has been a period of readjustment for me. After eight years with a tiny around my feet, I suddenly find myself alone for a large portion of my day. It’s taking a bit of getting used to, that’s for sure!

October for us involves birthday parties, some lovely visitors to Little Wood, Pumpkin Spiced lattes and not forgetting Halloween half-term.

I’m excited already!

See you next month!

What is your favourite thing about Autumn? The changing colours? Chill in the air? Or perhaps the excuse to buy a new scarf?

I’d love to know!
