April Loves from our Mummy Blogger

Well Hello There!

1 rotate

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break, and the sun shone for you as it did for us. We were so fortunate this year with the weather for the school holidays, and all of us at Little Wood have had a little taste now of what is to come as we head towards Summer.

There are virtues in every season, but Spring and Summer in the countryside are really something else. Our little wood is overrun with new baby bunnies, and pheasants, and foxes, and all manner of birds. And the hedgerows and trees are springing back to life after the Winter cold.

There’s nowhere else we’d rather be!

Some of our April loves from Little Wood

Us and Them

We took full advantage of the beautiful weather over Easter and got out and about as much as possible, picnicking and walking and visiting some local attractions. Sunshine definitely makes entertaining children much, much easier!

We also gathered some branches from our wood, to put together an Easter tree, complete with handmade ‘eggs’. The kids loved it, and it really brightened up our kitchen for the holiday period!

Me and Him

We did a little more in the way of decorating our home for Easter this year. It’s not something we usually bother with, but these little wreaths and decorations were very inexpensive, and we fell for the pretty colours!

Little Me

I’ve just felt a real sense of contentment this month, in being at home and spending time with my family. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life we can often pass weeks without really taking time to chat to each other, and we’ve really had a chance to regroup and rest this past month. Long may it continue!

May, I hope, will be a month of sunshine and longer, brighter days. The lighter evenings encourage playing on the grass after dinner, and sorting out flower beds, and watching the sunset from the patio when the kids are finally tucked up. I can’t wait!

See you next month!

How did you keep your kids busy over the holidays? I’d love to know!
