Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

Hello! I’m Sarah (from and I’m a new lifestyle blogger here for Sanctuary Spa. When coming up with my first post for you, I thought, as we don’t know each other yet, what better way for us to get acquainted than over cocktails?!

Sunny days are popping up more regularly now, leaving me with my fingers crossed that summer is in fact on it’s way. Is there anything better than English strawberries and sunshine? I’ll tell you what.. Strawberries in cocktails.

Strawberry daiquiri recipe

Daiquiris are traditionally made with citrus juice and rum, I’ve added in berries for that taste of summer and of course, the beautiful colour.

I like my daiquiris icy, so they are something like a grown-up fruity slushy smoothie. The fruit in this gives you one of your 5 a day and the gentle rum kick would make them a perfect start to the weekend.

I used a power blender which crushes ice too to make mine. If your blender isn’t quite up to the task, just pour the daiquiri into a glass filled with crushed ice. You can buy ready crushed ice from the supermarket or bash up your own with a rolling pin.

You will need:

8 Ripe Strawberries

Juice of a Lime

50ml White Rum

1 Teaspoon of Caster Sugar

2 Handfuls of Ice or Crushed Ice

Slices of Lime to Decorate

What to do:

  1. Take the leaves off the strawberries and wash them well.
  2. Pop the strawberries, lime juice, rum, sugar and ice into your blender and blitz until smooth and slushy (if your blender can’t blitz ice, don’t worry, see note above and just pop the ice in the glass ready).
  3. Serve in tall cocktail glasses, decorated with the lime slices and drink immediately (as if anyone would need to be asked twice!)

You can try this recipe with any combination of soft fruit and citrus fruit.
