Pastels, piercings, hair decorations – here’s how to sport them in an, ahem, more sophisticated way.

SS15 trends

On the catwalk: Baby blue and pistachio eye liner, Barbie pink lips and candy coloured hair.

In reality: Pastel nails are the chic way to wear the trend (but steer clear of sparkles).

On the catwalk: At Balmain and Prada models had a sultry, dare we say it, almost sweaty vibe.

In reality: Stick to using a highlighting cream or balm to add a subtle gleam.  Try Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream on cheekbones and eyelids.

On the catwalk: At Dries Van Noten there were fake lip rings, at Rodarte fake brow piercings.

In reality:  Do like Jen An and get a piercing midway up your ear.  Get the position right and it can really flatter the face.

Hair Decorations.

On the catwalk: At Dolce and Gabbana there were big roses in the hair, at Fendi big leather orchids.

In reality: Copy the simple, chic gold combs at Lanvin or try a whimsical flower inspired decorations (for inspiration Google Jennifer Behr at Net A Porter).
