November Loves from Little Wood…

Well Hello There!1 rotate

It feels like the temperate weather and bright skies of Autumn are long gone, and that Winter has us in its grasp at last. Every year November comes as a shock to me, with it’s biting chill and blustery winds helping shake the last of the copper leaves from their footings.

Here in the countryside we feel it increasingly, but are very thankful for warm fires, candle light, and the sleepy pace of long Winter evenings. We’ve been trying, this month, to really enjoy those cosy moments of calm, amongst the frantic pace of the pre-Christmas rush. It feels like it’s speeding towards us at a rate of knots. Where did the year go?!

I hope you’ve had lots of opportunity to relax in the warm this month too!

A few of our November highlights from Little Wood

Us and Them

We’ve been taking opportunity to enjoy the outdoors when the weather permits, and marvelling once again at the beautiful patchwork blanket of Fall. My little boy told me that you can see the whole rainbow in Autumn, and he really made me look at it with fresh eyes. How very true that is little man!

And we recently took part in a family den building challenge with Swedish superstore IKEA.  Definitely grateful for the architect on our team, and also for creative littles too! It was really good fun and made me think about how we could be more inventive with our family time on those rainy Winter afternoons.

Me and Him

We’ve enjoyed adding cosy touches to our home this month, in preparation for spending a lot more time indoors.  And cuddling up with Ernie whenever occasion allows. It’s our new favourite past time!

Little Me

I organised and hosted a shopping event in support of our local Hospice this month, and was blown away by the support from the local community, and also from all those further afield, taking the time to encourage in other ways too. (Thank you again to the lovely people at Sanctuary Spa for all their help!)

It was such a successful evening, and we raised lots of money for the charity while also enjoying Prosecco, little nibbles and a peaceful few hours of shopping.

It was always going to be a success with that on the agenda, wasn’t it?!

December is shaping up to be our busiest month to date, but we are so looking forward to all that it has in store.  I’ll look forward to sharing a little of it with you next month!

In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful run up to the festive season and enjoy every second of the magic and sparkle that December brings!
