Little Notes to the Season…

Dearest Autumn, you’re a good ‘un.  Even if all the conkers have miraculously disappeared from our neck of the woods. (quite literally, ha!)  I like to think of some little squirrel somewhere with a full belly and very full kitchen cupboards too. 😉

Dear tarte tatin Yankee Candle –  you make me all sorts of happy.  I know that some people don’t get this whole scented candle thing but, who even are they?!  No friends of mine, that’s for sure! 🙂

Dear Autumn skies – Wowsers, you get all the atmosphere awards for always.  And you make these shorter days that tiny bit easier to bear when they start and end so beautifully.

Dear crunchy leaves – thanks for being you, and for just lying there waiting so patiently for wellies and gloved hands to throw you upwards again.

Dear Autumn style – you are my favourite and your colours are the best of all.  Rusts and browns, ochres and reds.  I’ve been waiting all year to welcome you back again!

Dear cold, crisp days – not cold enough to require arctic layers and thermals just yet, but cold enough for hats and mittens.  And mild enough to eat outside whilst wrapped in cosy layers.  The novelty never lessens!

Dear bobble hats – you and I have had a love affair for the longest time.  I may cheat through spring and summer with other members of the hat genre, but my heart belongs to you.  Just wanted you to know that.

Dear forests and gardens and trails – Autumn looks good on you.  I think orange is really your colour you know?

Dear knitwear and roaring fires – you are the most perfect cold weather combination.  Like apple and cinnamon, pyjamas and tea, Ant and Dec.  You were made to be together!

Dear spiced drinks and pumpkin everything – I feel like you are the finest of the flavours, and that we wait all year just to appreciate you properly again.  Never ever change!

Have you any little notes to add?  We’d love to know!
